Here's Hercules wading in his water dish, with a wet face after a long drink.
I just love desert tortoises!
This guy doesn't hibernate much. He has been eating grass and weeds for about a week now, and he left a little poop yesterday. It looks like he will be up until Fall.
(last note) This is the one who had a huge underbite. Last summer at a routine vet check, the vet took off the extra beak material with a grinder. Now he has a better bite and looks much better.
