Getting hot.. Crusher has started again this year. He’s the only one out of my two that digs ! I’ve got to get him a barrel this year!
How deep and far does Crusher go? Opo is digging under the shed. I don't want him to get to far under the shed. If I needed to rescue him.

Since Opo dug a burrow under the shed. We are still battling with him. He will move flower pots, concrete pavers and plywood to try and get back to digging under the shed. ?
Used Tom's advice and started some holes in different parts of the yard. Opo doesn't seem interested on continue digging those areas.
So here is the beginning of our next plan.

Here is the finished project.

Half block on top of full block with dirt filled in the cavities.

Rose using a 4 1/2" side grinder to make a slot in the block, so the angle iron( old bed frame)would lay flush.

Durorock and then 1 1/2" styrofoam insulation

Dirt then sod. I know the sod is skeptical because of fertilizer, but it is St. Augustine sod. There are spots in my yard where someone had patched the yard with St. Augustine and Opo walks right over it to eat the bahia grass. The landscape stores will not sell bahia sod because being stacked up. In a few days it will mold and rot.

After 3 days Opo finally went in. We transplanted the tall grass and soon will fill in the opening.
The other day it was 90+ outside and it was 79 inside the hide.

For some reason I think Opo is trying to tell me he wants his tub in the porch. This is the 2nd day he has crawled inside and moved and maneuvered his tub about 5'. When he gets it to this point. He comes out walks out the other porch door. Comes around behind and tries to enter this door. ?

I was watching TV at 12:30 am. When there was scratching at the door. It was Opo wanting something to eat. I turned on the lights so he could see. I don't know if tortoises have good eyesight at night. 20211002_002814.jpg

You're sure it's Opo & not just some neighborhood punk sulcata? What a riot!!

Reminds me of that commercial with a lady late at night letting in a racoon thinking it's her Maine coon cat. I'm nearsighted enough I could do that.

Opo's a real personality isn't he? I've just enjoyed your thread on him. Thank you for sharing.

I think you mistook hunger for his wanting to sleep indoors. He tried to get his tub in there and when that didn't work he scratched to let you know he wanted to get his body in there! What a smart boy!!
