Is it ok to plant grass seeds directly into my baby Sulcata’s enclosure? If so, any types in mind?

Which grass seed would be best and I currently have cypress mulch in there, would the seeds grow ok with that?

Thank you

Some grass may grow on the cypress, but a growing medium more similar to soil would work better. Its typically easier to grow the grass in trays and swap them out from time to time. Or let the grass become established before adding the tortoise.

Thank you. I’ll do some research on which grasses can be grown with cypress mulch. But I’ll also get some grass growing in trays and swap them out.

I concur with Tom on that seed mix I grew trays last winter with great success, also the seed in my large enclosure. I have a small thread on here just look through my profile for a setup idea for growing grass in trays.
