Oil based paint

I painted my new indoor enclosure with oil based paint unknowingly. How long do I need to air it out before bringing it inside to use. It's the outside that's painted. Or should I strip the paint and start over with the right water based paint? I have fans blowing on and in the enclosure outside. I painted it Sunday and want to bring it in on Tuesday would that be long enough.

It all depends on temperature and humidity levels. The warmer and lower the humidity the faster it will dry. A few days and it should be okay.

Thanks. We are at 85-90 degrees but very humid. It feels dry but I worried about the smell if the fumes would be to strong for my peaches (sulcata)

It probably is. If you can smell it then it needs to air out. A few more days should be good.

I sprayed the inside of my russians table with a waterproof sealant, and it smelled TERRIBLE! but after a few days it just smelled like wood again :D
I would wait a bit more :)

Do you have a portable heater you can put near it or maybe a fan? Direct sunlight will help too.

I have two fans blowing I will do my nose test and smell. Thanks again. So only the fumes can be harmful nothing to do with the oil base paint itself. Should the inside be painted. Of course this time with water base. I have a shower curtain liner on the bottom
