As some of us have heard the TSA and some Chinese zoologist have tried to artificialy inseminate the female Yangtze sotfshel turtle with the sperm of the male. I was optimistic for this as the sperm count was higher then usual and the insemination was done by surgery. My thought is that even if they are able to fertilise the eggs the gene pool would be way too small, the only way they can save them is if they find more of these rare turtles.
