Hello, am new to owning tortoises but have owned many reptiles. I am unsure if this tortoise is a russian, greek, etc. as i bought it from petsmart and they had no clue as to how old they are, what gender they are or what type they are. Please help to identify age, gender and type. He/she looks a bit more worn than photos of tortoises on the internet, but I don't know if that's because he is old or because he is unhealthy. Thanks!

That is a Russian. Looks to be male, but I am not sure. No way of knowing the age but it is an adult. I am sure some else will come along shortly. Welcome to the forum. Make sure to check out our Russian tort section for info on setting him up.

Hi and welcome! It's a young male Russian, almost full grown.

Russian male! Russian's are the best!!!!!!!!!!! (PS, the only reason I am sure about the male thing is because mine is a female, and she looks different in the tail region)
