New To Tortoises

Hiya, So I’m completely new to tortoises! I know nothing but I fell in love when I seen one eat and then another and omg it’s so cute. I realize they require HUGE enclosure and they have really long life spans and is a life time commitment. So with that said, I wanna try and find a tortoise to research and potentially get but not sure where to start! One that doesn’t require a whole room at least [emoji28] But I have a yard! I can keep a 8x4 enclosure in my room but I hear that’s too small so not sure... I’m completely new to them and never thought about getting one until I realize it’s time to get another animal and finally stop spoiling my ball python with ever pay check [emoji23][emoji23]

Have you done enough research to have some sort of idea what species you may like to have? You can read the pinned threads at the tops of each of our species specific sections to see the care required for each species.

You may want to look in to Box turtles also .
