We have 4 box turtles. Not sure which are male/female - but one of them laid 3 eggs semi buried in the dirt. They have an outdoor habitat. I was advised to place a barrier w/good air circulation around the eggs so that the other turtles wouldn't hurt the eggs. We've done that. However today we found one of the eggs deflated. What does that mean? We don't think we turned any of them - definitely didn't pick them up -- just kind of scooted them into an area that we could put the barrier around. Any ideas? We've added a little bit of moisture to the dirt they are in, since it is bone dry (Texas).
