I'll probably get some fake ones. I've tried live ones the past few weeks and they get eaten right away.
I wonder if you might have better luck with plants that hold their leaves above the water's surface.

I'm thinking a plant like an Aglaonema (Chinese evergreen), with its roots planted in pebbles in a clay terra cotta pot, with the top of the pot and the pebbles being just under the surface of the water. The turtles could hang out on the submerged island, but the plant leaves would be above them.

Pothos might be more ideal, bit you might have to give its stems a way to climb a bit first, before it cascades down or out into the water. If the turtles like the taste of it, that is.

Todd, it looks great! How big are your juveniles now? I'm guessing around 3.5 to 4 inches?

Are there any fish left? ;)
Ya surprisingly there are some fish living. I just threw the goldfish in thinking they would get eaten. Now I've got a pond full of goldfish lol. I guess because they have more room. I've added some fancy guppies to.
