Just picked up a new small, adult male Russian. He came from a loving home, but they did not meet proper care requirements. This resulted in metabolic bone disease, missing scales, an overgrown beak, and he is underweight.

Well things can only be better from now on! Good that you have him!

At least he looks better than he could be at this age! Sweet relief. I would start oiling his shell regularly, for sure.
