I know about the vitamin shot. As for the poop he has not gone since I've had him.Dont' let them talk you into a Vitmin shot. Also ask if you can drop his poop off to be tested for worms. A bad case of worms will easily put off even the hungriest Russian and you wouldn't even need to . Also for soaks a jar of carrot puree in the soak tub does much better.
Well then they may have to dig some out. Sorry wishing you good luckI know about the vitamin shot. As for the poop he has not gone since I've had him.
Yep the ones at pet stores have an unknown and often Wild history so who knows what in their system.I soak him twice a day with carrot sometimes squash baby food. I have read so much I've tried everything that I can. When he was first rescued he had so much crust around his neck he couldn't pull inside his shell. That part is gone!
I acquired him through my grand daughter he wasn't from a pet shop.Yep the ones at pet stores have an unknown and often Wild history so who knows what in their system.
Where did she get him from. The majority of ones bought from Pet Stores are wild caught and there are some awesome Russian Breeders on TFO. Okay my apologies for not reading everything the first time. What are you offering him for food and what was he being fed by your grand daughter. Torts do not like change and refusing to eat for a week is not too unusual. Additionally what are your temps (warm/cold), what you use for heat, substrate, water dish, and Lights (UVB, ambient etc. ) and type of enclosure. If he is too cold or if its painfully bright that could keep him off food. Hope that helpsI acquired him through my grand daughter he wasn't from a pet shop.
