Ello there, so i have a few questions to ask. So yesterday i was given a baby Sonoran Desert tortoise, he or she is about 4 or 5 months old, i was wondering if i'm able to sleep with a fan on in my room at night. He or she is in a glass tank, inside a plastic bin with dirt, i have him at the head of my bed next to my stand fan, i would like to know if he'll be okay or if i need to place a blanket over the cage to keep him warm. Also i tried to feed him but he really didn't touch what i presented him, which was lettuce and a small tomato. So should i give him a bit? his or her background is that their siblings were eaten by a dog.also what kind of light do i need to get him or her??

Hello and welcome. Care for this species is the same as Russian tortoises, so this will explain everything in detail. Please come back with all your question after reading. Happy to explain more.

Number one priority is to soak the baby daily. They need hydration desperately at that size. Number two will be to get a heat lamp going, so the baby can warm up during the day.

I would cover the enclosure so the fan can't blow inside.
