Im the owner of a 1yo Sulcata Tort named Taco. I have recently finished building a outdoor enclosure for my Tort. the enclosure has wide room to walk around in plenty of shade and sun and a shallow water dish. The roof is made of a chicken wire fencing which i nailed between two boards to make a makeshift cover. the flooring is made of a screen which is used to make screened porches but i put this on top of the bottom layer of chicken wire so that Taco's feet wouldn't get stuck in the holes... so far i haven't really had Taco in the enclosure

I see. If you could build a safe ground closure he could graze on the weeds you could either plant or that would grow naturally. I just placed a wire puppy play pen I had on the ground and let the grass and weeds take it over. In no time you couldn't even see the wire. Then I placed the side fencing around the edge of the bottom fencing. He can't dig out and with the right enclosure fencing he can't dig or climb out.
