I thought I would share my new closed chamber for my sulcata. It's cheap and easy to build. It's an old crib with plexiglass front and shower curtain lined inside. The lights hang from a wire mount I bought from ikea. I have the top covered with a shower curtain right now until I build a top for it. It is about 5 and a half feet long by 2 and a feet wide. Very clever. It should keep the humidity right up there. I don't see a thermostat of any sort to control the heat. In closed chambers the ambient temperature can rise up pretty quick. A simple thermostat, or even a dimmer switch on the heat lamp, can help and even maintain the night time temps.

I am interested in the wire mount. Can I see a close up of the wire mount please?

You might want to put a piece of wood as a sight barrier . They could ruin that shower curtain in a second. Probably pretty stressful too

My tort cannot see thru the shower curtain. The front is plexiglass and he doesn't try to go thru it.

The only thing is the location of the basking lamp is pretty weird
Weird how? I put it there because my tort loves to sit in the water under the lamp. Therefore the lamp is placed to where it can bask out of the water or in the water.

Using an old 6 year baby crib for a tortoise habitat is an inspired idea. It only requires a minimum of 'fixing' to make it tortoise proof, and you already have the high sides to help support a lid or a shower curtain or whatever. A little board across from end to end and you have a light pole. I love this idea.
