Terry K. I agree it helps if you have to have an artistic eye to get the pics you do. And even we oldies like to get complements every now and then so smile and take them graciously. ;) About your red nose pic, that is one big red snozola. :D all I can say about them tort pics is WOW !.

Oh and you could have just gotten a new camera you didn't have to drop your old one in the water, ya know. :p

Oh, that is just precious! Are those tiny teeth on the mouth of that yellow munchkin?

I can't believe I ever thought tortoises were unattractive. These guys are utterly huggable!

WOW SUPER FUN CLOSE UPS!!!

[ I started this a few minutes ago and forgot to "SAVE" it ]

Earlier TerryO had started her new thread on pics of Pio.. and had mentioned that she loved that Rudolph nose!

As it would happen I just took my new camera out of the box.. [ an hour ago ]! I dropped the other one in the water and the LCD screen went crazy and I can't see what I'm pic'n! [ feeble excuse to get a new camera huh? ]

Anyway I put the newly charged battery in the new camera.. put the memory stick in.. set it on "Intelligent Auto" - aka 'point & shoot' - because I'm not as intelligent as ( OR have the $$$$ ) that Chewbecca and her big fancy SLR -

..... inside joke.

So I pushed the "ON" button and prayed that it wouldn't implode.....

I went over to the tort building and POINTED AND SHOOTED!

The little male Brazilian was sittin' under the light [ dark otherwise ]..

and when he saw the flash.. looked up! And I moved in 'real close'..

Yeah that's a Rudoph nose alright.

I wonder what kind of nose pic'n I'll be able to do when I figure out how this thing works???

By the way, our science word of the day is 'nares'- what scientists call the 'nostrils'. Most commonly used for nose openings on beaks, etc.
