New Box Turtle Mommy

Hello everyone! My name is Wendy, and I live in Central Texas. I recently took over care of my Mom’s Three Toed Box Turtle, Michelangelo. My Mom got him in Oklahoma about 5 years ago when he was hit by a car and had part of his shell broke . Fish and Wildlife told her that he would never be able to go back into the wild as he would become easy prey as the part of his shell missing is right at his neck. This has definitely been a learning experience for me, but I think we’re getting the hang of it. I am getting ready to build him a turtle table. I think he’ll be much happier.

I’m happy to know that this forum exist for turtle mommies and daddies. Always helps to have knowledgeable people to talk about my turtle questions to. Thanks for having me!!

Hi Wendy, and welcome! If at all possible, set him up in a safe and secure outdoor area instead of indoors. Turtles do much better out in the real world.
