New baby rad!

He is on property 8 grams. I thought it would be more with how big his appetite is, but that's okay.


His light comes on every morning, and within 5 minutes he is sitting right at, or outside his cave waiting to start the day.

Just like my Sterretje, lights on... right awake. Waiting for what the day might bring.

It seems like he eats non stop, but he hasn't frown a single gram this week.

That can take a while. Same goes for my little Star. If they are active enough...

Yes he is very active. He is always walking and exploring and coming in and out of his cave. When he gets a drink of water he likes to stick his entire head under the water to gulp it down. It cracks me up!

You needn't worry. The little tortoise looks quite healthy. You will find that they don't always gain weight every week. Sometimes they seem to "plateau" at a given weight for a week or two, then start gaining again.

I just had to come back and take a peek again. Love your little Radiated Tortoise!! Happy to follow his/ her growth and all.

Only up a couple grams. But he is definitely getting longer it seems. He is so playful and fat less fearful now and loves stretching that neck out to check everything out.

Cute little thing. Remember with babies 58g vs 62g is the difference a big poop might make...and boy do hatchlings make a lot of poop!

He sat in his water for about an hour. Going to have to get a saucer for him to hot tub in apparently.

Still not growing to quick. But that's okay, he seems healthy still and has a hearty appetite.

@Scubaroo I would not call that "not quick". Your little guy has gained 15 g in a month. For a 50g tortoise that is 30% gain. That is very nice growth.

Hard she'll, appetite, bowel movements, weight gain. Great signs for a young tortoise.
