Hello Everyone,

I have an almost 4-month old Russian that we acquired about 3 weeks ago. For now we have him in a ZooMed Tortoise House with acrylic covering part of the warm side to help keep the humidity in. The first day or two we had him, he slept buried in the substrate in the cool side of his enclosure... but ever since then he hasn’t ventured over there; rather, he stays on the warm side and just buries himself there instead when he goes to sleep. Any thoughts on why he doesn’t want to go to the cool side? Humidity is at 80%, temp under basking light is 98F and temp on cool side is 75F. He gets daily soaks, has a healthy appetite, and goes outside daily for at least an hour to walk around the yard and soak in some real sun. I’ve attached a photo so you can see his little setup. You’ll notice he is currently buried near the plant taking a nap.

Thank you!
