That's what I wanted but ya know, dumb Christmas present. Lol.
yea, my dad got 2 male russians for Christmas, and they kept trying to mate with my female (sofia) so we had to give them away. He didn't do research. That's what I wanted but ya know, dumb Christmas present. Lol.

Hello. My Harpo and Chico are just under one. They are used to living with other torts, but I live in NC, and your princess would have to ship overnight with a heat pack. You can let me know if you still need to rehome. My torts also come to their name and like to touch my nose with their snoot.Hi...I'm looking for a good home for my sulcata tortoise. Would like to sale so I can purchase a smaller tort or will simply rehome to the right person. Long story short, boyfriends kids bought for me as a Christmas present last year not knowing how big they get and I dont have the means to keep her as she grows. I'm crying as I type this. I live in an apartment and she is outgrowing enclosures quickly and I have no idea when I'll be able to have a yard for her to be in. Her names Gertrude aka gerty. Shes about a year and 1/2 to 2 years old. Shes finally warming up to me and will come when her name is called and not hide when I pick her up. This is truly a heartbreaking decision but I need to do what's best for her. Ps...I'm located in central florida.
Darn you Mark,? I have 2 companies coming fri. to give me estimates on fencing the backyard. It is going to take sometime to see if the insurance company is going to pay for a pool. If no I would have room for another sully.I think @Ray--Opo might need another Sully! Good luck in rehoming - wait for a true Forever custodian of these great reptiles!
I would check out Kamp Kenan , he makes YouTube video out of Florida and has a few sulcatas that he has done videos for but might be able to assist with who to contact regarding rehoming your little oneHi...I'm looking for a good home for my sulcata tortoise. That is so awesome they had companions! I've always thought places that allowed that were run by special people. Sorry about your friend.Several years ago a dear friend that I loved very much moved into a senior living facility that was not too far from my home. I was so tickled to find out that they had a couple of pets that their grounds keepers took wonderful care of. A good number of their residents just loved having the pets, while none of them were saddled with having to take care of them. One of their pets was a full grown sulcata who would visit with anyone sitting outside. They were able to hand feed it appropriate foods that were provided just for that purpose. The other was a chihuahua that spent his time going from apartment to apartment, and would even ride the elevator up and down all by himself so he could visit all of his friends. Both of them had the run of the property and it was really sweet.
Sadly, my friend passed a couple of years ago and I don't see them anymore.
Don't rub it in Vladimirs dad.?I immediately thought of Ray ?
@ILoveMyTort82 I can't imagine how hard it must be. I wish you the best of luck in finding a new home for Gerty.
What a great story. I lived 1 yr in a assisted living facility. I could see how a sulcata could give a little cheer to the residents.Several years ago a dear friend that I loved very much moved into a senior living facility that was not too far from my home.
