I have received multiple different answers. Can anyone here tell me what they think or know this looks like? About 4.5 inches shell length. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I am. Not sure if it’s exactly the salinity it needs, but I do add some to the water. I feel it helps with organisms and health. Thank you for the compliments.

Hygrometers can help you measure the salinity. If you do get one, I recommend the telescope looking one instead of the meter one

Thank you all for the help and complements. I ended up buying a refractometer thanks to all your advice. I was way under the salinity needed for brackish water. Now I am perfect. I bought the liquid to calibrate the tool as well. Gem seems very happy now. Fed her some ghost shrimp yesterday. What cool animals to watch eat. Just simply amazing. Let’s see some of your terrapins out there if you wish to share.....

We had a rescued diamondback that we eventually released in Jamaica Bay here. We alternated between fresh and brackish water. They hunt food in salt water, but return periodically to fresh water for drinking, before heading out again.
