I saw one like that in a forum the other day, that's not a gopher is it? I'm newbie and not tort intelligent so don't take my word, new here.

Looks like a gopher. Pretty sure. 99%.. Protected species. You can get in trouble here in Florida if you try to make a pet of it.

Thanks for the replies. This one was dropped off at an apartment complex in my town. (Idiots) Anyway our DNR tortoise lady has found an educational home for it.

Educational Home. Hmmmmmm. Would that be, like, a school of some kind?

That would be Department of Natural Resources. She handles issues like this and with not knowing where it came from, we can't very well just take it anywhere.

What size do they grow to? I love them, they look like the "quintessential tortoise".
