In Hawaiian
('Ele 'ele) is black
(Nui) means large
(Mauna) means mountain
(ʻElepane) means elephant (they have elephant legs when larger.
That's it. Can you tell I like Hawaii!

Adal- German for sweet or noble and can be changed to Adalie if it's a girl.
Dalbert- it's an English name meaning proud
I'm terrible with names.. I have a leopard gecko named Gecko. These came from a baby book.

Beautiful little Aldabra!!
I like the name "Indu" for a Tortoise, thinking of this name for my new baby. It means bright drop. Even though yours is black, he or she is a bright drop in your life, I am sure!!

Hope we get updates as you grow with your new Aldabra.
We all learn from each other.
They are still not as common as many others , so we have fewer to compare & share.
I'm no good at naming. Mine seem to end up with funny ones :)

The forum is a good place to keep a running record of his/her life.
Welcome to the " chunky thigh" club !
