is not normal simply because they have no diaphragms to be able to make that sort of noise easily. and it's very hard to say whether something is wrong or not. it could be something it could be nothing. but for right now with no behavior changes I wouldn't worry just yet.

My larger adolescent 8 yo does this almost every time I feed him some moist mazuri It's like a gulping sound - but he's a pig with that stuff.

They can make sounds like that when eating. I don't worry.

If they are gulping when not eating it could be something stuck in throat or a respiratory issue

My 5 year old Sully, Alice, makes big sounds when doing her business......or sleeping....don't remember which but I don't worry about it.

He's all okay now he must've choked in smth but I'm not sure. Plus, I got a brand new home for him!!!!

P.S: The old home was too small for him so I got his new one with real grass.
