Hi Everyone,

Here are some pics of my outdoor redfoot enclosure that I created using a 6' x 10' chain link dog kennel that I had sitting out in the yard not being used for years.

Here's what I started with:

This is the final outcome:

Tell me what you think

I just love it! Very inventive way to use the dog run. You could even take the panel that is up against the fence and make the run longer. (Except it wouldn't have a cover, huh...oh well forget that!) I love the way you have it planted and shaded. Its a great redfoot home.

Great looking. The extra height is great for the foilage as they grow providing further shade for your RFs. Perhaps planting grapes outside of pen would be appreciated by these guys.

That actually could work Yvonne, he could use lattice panels from the top of the lower fence to the top of the pen to provide the shade and also cut in angles to fill the sides ;)

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback. They do seem to love their home very much. They love it so much that they produced my first ever redfoot hatchlings about 3 weeks ago. I'll post photos of Donatello and Michael Angelo soon...

Congrats on your new hatchlings RedfootAddict. I too have converted a dog run into a tort pen. Love the idea and the height it provides for me to stand up in. My torts are small Geeks so I have to have a secure top it is so nice not to have to stoop. You have done yours up lovely for your torts and they have showed their thanks with two lovely hatchlings. Again Congrats and I can't wait to see pics of the new ones.

Thanks Robyn & Randy, I agree its wonderful not to have to stoop down, its so confortable to do daily maintenance with the added height. Still working on getting some good photos of my new little ones and will post them soon.
