My little group of Pyxis arachnoides. Adults to little ones. (2 are missing, did not take pics) adorable personalities.
Nice to see those Photos Annette. They are all beautiful, but the one in the plastic dish facing to the bottom of the screen is a total screamer.
I love this one too. He is sooo yellow, very shy though and is aestivating now.Nice to see those Photos Annette. They are all beautiful, but the one in the plastic dish facing to the bottom of the screen is a total screamer.
Anthony this is a female, which is a beauty. The one next to it is smaller, but looks also like it would be a female.both are beauties!I prefer the one in the top left of the first photo. The yellow head on that tortoise is gorgeous.
Great to see your herd, Annette.
I started out with Pyxis arachnoides and stayed with them. All are Pyxis a.a from different breeders.Agreed will. It almost looks like a blonde leopard tortoise if you don't do a double-take. Great photos too. Do you know which sub-species you have? Are these in the U.S.?

its kinda dry and i'm thinking to put them outside? That's awesome. I'm focusing on Pyxis a. brygooi and live in Riverside County. I know will is down in SD and focuses on planicauda. SoCal is spider tortoise country!!

Mine go outside every day. I mist them once or twice daily with the mist setting on the hose. Also half their substrate is filled with New Zealand Sphagnum moss which has great moisture retention and stays wet 24-48 hours for them to have a place that's humid. They love to bury themselves in it.
