I have a 6x3x15 tortoise table which Is open top

are open top enclosures ok for rft or would too much humidity escape? Am using cypress mulch mixed with sphagnum moss. I keep it dampened but not d soaking wet

An open table will not work.
Itll be nearly impossible and will require lots of time.
Search "closed chamber" enclosures.
They hold in heat and humidity and will make your life much easier.
I'd also get rid of the moss. Redfoot will definitely try to eat it.

I’m looking at closed chambers tanks here. Can you use plexiglass to seal in lamps and uvb?

I will be using a glass tank for now can I put plexi sheets on lid?

also what watt heat bulb or che would work mounted on the inside?

That would depend on the size and height of your enclosure. But because closed chambers are easier to keep warm, maybe a 50 watt CHE?
You can drill holes in your plexi lid and mount your Florescent UV and CHE to the underside.
Hinges held on with silicone aquarium glue are what I use.

After using the search function more I used aluminum and that with the Che bulb and uvb tube both mounted on the inside is keeping everything perfect. It’s in a thermostat of course

Sounds good.
Some adjustments/tweaks might be needed. But that is 100% normal.

I ended up going with a Radiant Heat Panel instead of the CHE for my setup. It made making some kind of lid for a closed chamber much easier.

Nice i might just want to use your setup as a template when giving mine its 75 gallon if that’s okay? Lol

here’s his current setup any criticism besides it’s a 20 long would be welcomed.
