My glass shell

Emys are often described as tortoises with uninteresting dull black/brown shell.

In certain environment conditions they can develop polished glass like scutes, forming a nicely detailed carapace architecture.

Ps: The shell appears to be polished like, but that's just how it looks dry without anything done to it. The scutes have nice light reflecting properties. All scutes are slightly concave and closely resemble that of a Manouria Impressa shell shape. The Emys Emys in the photos is 7+ inches and under two years old, raised in a very moist/warm environment.

It doesn't appear polished like on my end. However, they still look really nice. I think their shells look cool and really nice.

Actually, what's weird. If I don't blow up you pics full size, they look a lot shinier then when I do blow them up, hmmm.
Either way, they look great.

Unfortunately for some reason the uploaded photos resolution was greatly reduced, good amount of detail is lost.
