Hello friends, on the 12th of february a single baby redfoot tortoise born on one of my enclosures, he looked well and i put him in a separate space from his parents as they could hurt im somehow, he was botn with a closed nostril wich i easily opened cautiously with a toothbrush, but the next day his eyes were not opening, i tought it was just because he was sleeping a lot but the other day it was like that too, so i put some water on the closed eyes and i think it softened the skin and he open them Both, i then saw one of the eyes (the left one) was swollen and cloudy, so i researched about it and found some things then i started applying an eye drops with corticoid and antibiotics but i then talked with a veterinarian (who does not work as a veterinarian but has a graduation on it) and he advised using another eye drops i have wich is for cat and dog usage and has zinc sulfate and associations, i used it for a week and it cured the swelling but not the cloudiness. I then talked with another veterinarian who does practice the profession but does not work with reptils and she recommended a ointment that works for regenerations of the human cornea, and i applied it the last 3 days and it had no visible results, i can not pay a reptile veterinarian as it is extremely expensive in my city (just the query costs around 40 Dollars converting our currency to dollars) and i can not pay as i do not work because i study all da because im in a technician course and a graduation, and living with my parents who also cant give me that money at the moment. So my question is if you friends can tell me if he still has chance of recovery or give me advice or a solution to his eye problem. In the first attached file is a photo of his left eye wich is cloudy and blueish, and the second file is the other eye wich looks normally black. Also when he eats he misses a lot of bites and hits the air because of his vision. Thank you all friends.
