It's a good idea to put a barrier up all around the bottom of the tank so your torts can't see out. As they're looking our but can't go there it stresses them out. Also, you should have the cool side of your tank at about 80, 90 might just be too high. They're very cute, sorry about Tyson

I just went to a reptile show and bought another sulcata and once I got it home after a couple days I realized it had a respiratory infection. Make sure you keep them separate for a couple weeks at least :)

Good idea thanks I lost 1 already from URI my heart can't take it again

How are you going to carry them in and out of the house when they weigh 150 pounds?
You need to start preparing for the inevitable now.I am not trying to be a jerk.
I live in Fl and I have to take my torts in a "few times" a year. I can't even lift one of my Aldabras anymore.
It is not an easy task. Are you planning on building an enclosure to house them for 8-9 months out of the year? 2 adult Sulcatas can eat 20 heads of romaine a day without a problem. Think about the cost of caring for them too.
These are things you really need to think about. I would think twice about adding to your original 2.
Just some friendly advice. :)

Thanks for the good advice that's what we all here for. I throw 90lbs cement and sands bags around for a living so 150 lbs is manageable lol. I also have a home in FL. right outside Tampa so space shouldn't be a problem fingers crossed

Well I didn't see any good looking sulcata's at show. Alot in bad shape sad to say. It's a shame that they are selling these torts in such bad conditions to unknowing buyers, And when you comment on it they get upset like your saying something wrong. l would still like to add 1 or 2 to my pride guess I'll keep looking

if you have your heart set on sulcatas.. and have the space.. trying looking into rescues.. ones that are in need of a new good home.
However... if you live in New York.. Im not sure if that is the best or easiest place to have a herd.. but good luck!

Without reading everyone else's posts...I will tell you that you have three...and that's a perfect number to have. It minimizes bullying. On the subject of the pyramided one...there's nothing you can do about a breeder's ignorance. However, he's young enough that you can curb it. You should consider multiple soakings...I soak mine twice a day for (at least) an hour. Your temps/humidity are PERFECT! I like your set-up and even though it seems to be a good size now...about a year from now, you'll be upgrading. Do they get access to sunlight? They need (at least) two hours a day. If not, that bulb needs to be a Mercury Vapor Bulb...the best (IMHO) being the Zoo Med Powersun. If they do get sun exposure, then any basking bulb will do.

You might wanna look at the three links in my signature. The first is a Care Sheet I penned. And the other two are diet ideas...I have yet to hear about a sully that doesn't like them.

Good luck!

They are so cute!!! You are going to love the gentle giants when they are large enough to roam your yard. Talk to them....they will get to know your voice and respond more and more. =) Good luck!!

You said you read Tom's threads, so I would say you definitely know how to raise them healthy and get them on the right track. As they get bigger definitely need to look into a bigger enclosure, as I have found, there are many examples of indoor and outdoor enclosures for various species. Find one that suits you and good luck, I think you will do great. But four might be getting crowded in the later years, just make sure you have room, if you do, have at it!

OK 2 week up date Tah Tah and Tyson are doing great. I don't know if its because of the change in weather or what but there eating a lot more a lot. Im wondering if I should still be trying to replace the one I lost to URI. my home is all ready looking like a mini zoo. Also I can say that since I started feeding them mazuri they are growing faster. Tyson has reach 9oz. and Tah Tah almost 6oz. I know that's nothing compared to most of you guys. but Im enjoying every second watching them grow
