Sorry for delay in reply!! I've been finishing a semester up (late life... Hey i think i need a doctorate!! Lol) and adding a pom puppy to the herd. (Lost my last doggie in March).
Anyway... Sorry to ramble. (I do that) my best guess and agreeing with John who is amazing at guessing sex in hatchling Egyptians... I think 2 females and 1 male which is what i had hoped for. The pictures i posted... The "females" would have been around 5 months old and the little guy approximately 3 months... None of them 2 inches yet. The girls will be a year old in March and I'm still thinking same thing on sex. I'm currently working on a new enclosure... (Just because it's FUN lol) if i get a chance I'll post pics... But it might be after the holidays. How are your Egyptians doing?

Mine are doing fantastic - they are not disturbed and go through their daily lives as routines. Maybe boring for us human but satisfying for tortoises. I was hoping the two I have are male and female but at about 3", I was told both are females. The larger one is a little over 3" and the tail is still little short on the female side. Here are their plastron photos (first two are larger one and last two are smaller one).

First one looks male to me. Second could be male but could end up female.

Given another year, I hope that I can better tell if their names "Tut" and "Cleo" are appropriate. BTW, the smaller one is high dome of shape than the larger one but actually 3 weeks older. I am not sure if there are other elements to look at for sexing the kleinmanni.

I can't say I keep them in constantly humid environment as it's very dry in the area we live. I do soak them every day for about 20 min. And I spray the enclosure once a while when I have chance. I believe keeping them hydrated is very important.

It has been a while since my last post. About time for an update and some photos.

First there were 3 new members added to my Egyptian family. They have been under my care for 10 months now. Second I am pretty sure now one of my largest Egyptians is male for his large and long tail.

Here are some latest pictures of my clan.

Both groups look really good @vic1711 and @Rocky Mountain Man .

Though as mentioned they live in a dynamic environment where desert meets the sea, and temps and humidity fluctuate wildly, they don't endure all that fluctuation, they go out when the temp humidity parameters favor their little bodies, and stay sequestered in burrows they make, or those of other animals, when it's not okay outside. During times of the day when they are just waiting it out they use retreats under shrubbery. The point is they don't need bad climate to do well. Several loose clumps of dry grass or sphagnum some moist some dry, a substrate they can hunker into or hides that are snug all do well.
They live entirely where marine incursion into the desert occurs. Some populations further from the sea live in areas with numerous flood canyons that allow the marine incursion to move further inland. All this is well documented by field scientists that study them in the wild. Live broadleaf plants and grasses in the enclosure provide good hides and help moderate humidity. A few captive breeders have very little pyramiding, so far myself included, I have not seen any captive bred animals that approximate the look of adult wild caught tortoises. Yours, look as good as I have seen for captive raised.

Long time ago I had this idea of utilizing the basement's window well as an enclosure idea: it is secure, has direct and indirect sunlight, and is a more controlled environment. I decided to give it a try while the outdoor temp is still all right. It appeared that my Egyptians really enjoyed their temporary enclosure. I may give it a go next summer. Here is the youtube video I captured.
