Minor first aid for cuts due to shell

Has anyone got a tortoise that is always developing minor lacerations and scrapes from their shell scratching them around the ears and behind the knee?
How do you treat? Or do you treat it at all?
Suddenly this summer Benny has become super agitated and is wanting to explore and get out of whatever enclosure he is placed in and he's constantly coming out of these rambunctious activities with minor lacerations. I'm not sure if I should treat him or just let him heal on his own.
Any suggestions on how to prevent this cutting?

Sharp edges on a shell could MAYBE be smoothed with a dremel tool, but might want confirmation from the experts first.

Tetramyacin cream might keep infection away. Doesn't hurt.
