My Sulcata Hatchling seems to make a mess of his food (spring mix, collared greens, bok choy etc....) spreading it all around his tank.

It's ridiculously hard to sift out the greens from coconut fiber.

Is it imperative that I sift it out? Or is it OK to bury it and mix in with the Coco fiber?

They will move the food everywhere, all you can do is clean it up. Like was said above, you don't want to bury it, the food will rot and then you will have a bug issue, unless thats what you want.

hmm... Not too worried about bugs in a 40 gal glass tank... Think I'll do a thorough cleaning of the lettuce at least once or twice a week though.

Thanks!

You will get bugs and the food may also cause mold. How about trying to place the food either on a larger dish/rock, or placing the dish/rock inside a hid with a bottom on it so he has to go in the box to eat. Maybe it won't be easy to get the food out of the box. If nothing helps, you will have to clean, thats what we have to do as pet owners. Good luck
