Hi my names Jason and I've just taken stock of my mate Dave the Marginated tortoise. I have been told he is one year old. I have changed his living arrangements after suggestions from Sharon my better half and her tortoise Luna. More pics to follow.

Hello, Jason, and a very warm welcome to Tortoise Forum to you an Dave.
If you haven't read them, then these are very useful :

Your substrate has those little white calcium bits in, I think ? They're very popular in British pet stores but can encourage substrate eating which can lead to impaction.
I would also use a cheap, shallow, terracotta plant saucer big enough for Dave to soak in and sunk into the substrate for the water. It's easier and safer for the tortoise to access.
And a few hidey places and a bit of interest can be added by placing a few spider plants around the enclosure.
This might also help with the necessary humidity.
Have a look at http://www.tortoiseforum.org/threads/the-end-of-pyramiding.15137/
and http://www.tortoiseforum.org/threads/closed-chambers.32333/
for more ideas.
