I was looking up info on tortoise digestion and ended up getting a package deal of the whole anatomy, and being pretty much an anatomy geek this was really exciting!

The article went into detail on the different scutes and when it spoke of the marginal I remember back around when me and 'Nank were just getting acquainted that for some reason I counted them, and he has one more on one side than the other! (I think it was 11 one side 12 on the other). Is this a common thing? Does anyone else know of this or thought of this? Didn't know if its something different that happened to him in development or if its just how it works. He's a Russian if that makes a difference.
