Hello i have had this baby African Sulcata desert tortoise for about 2 or 3 months now and she is healthy and she is growing. The thing is i havent named it!! I have no idea how to tell if it's male or female. Can you tell when they're babies? or do you have to wait 3 or 4 years until they grow? If you do have to wait until they grow how do you tell if it's male or female?? i just wanna name it!! :p :tort:

You pretty much can only guess at this stage, unless you have it tested. If you know what temperature it was incubated, that too can help give you a bit better idea, but still would just be a guess. So I would advise giving a generic name that works for both genders. Or just name it how it looks or seems to you. To be honest, your tortoise will never care what you call it.

I prefer to use names that can go either way for the babies that I can't tell for sure what the gender is. My Sulcatas are named Kasey, Kendall, Dee, Dusty, and Devon, all names that can be for a boy OR a girl ;)

Yup, Laura said it. :) Rabbit pellets bad. I see some bumps already. You are in need of some humidity.
