At this point I have given up on trying to figure out the sex of these tortoises myself I’m just going to let the people on this forum decide for me and I will go with that my thought was that I had five females but I am no longer so sure

I'm really rubbish at guessing the carbonaria. Is it three different tortoises? I'm thinking I see two females and a male.

Probably would help if you number them. I think the ones with the really marbled plastrons are male

I'm wondering is there other unconventional methods of sexing RF's not only by appearance, do males & females display any behavioral differences like aggressions or activities like are certain sexes tends to roam about more, dig more or avoid others like humans etc...

There are but they are not very reliable as it’s based on the individual not really their gender I have some female redfoots that have laid eggs and during breeding season they mount the other females it’s extremely hard to tell sometimes

I think I’m seeing one male and 4 females. The one with the lightest plastron looks like it could be male but I’m not 100% confident. The tail is still a little short but it could grow.

I’ve have had better luck looking at the shape of the anal scutes than tail size for immature redfoots.

Going to say the one with the light plastron is a female because it’s 9 1/2 inches already and I feel like it’s tail would be longer compared to a definite male that size

Is that one's Plastron slightly concave? It kind of looks like it in the picture but it's hard to tell.

I guess I would agree as for very young red foots the initial growth of female might be quicker than males, I have 3 RF's from the same breeder & 2 are very similar but 1 immediately noticed colour & growth rate much slower with slight behavioral disparities as well.
