I know of this gal and I've spent many hours yacking with her. For what it's worth she seems like good people to me. She's willing to ship if buyer pays shipping and advises how best to ship to their location.

Remember, you can't adopt or purchase a tortoise that isn't already in Canada. You can only import a tortoise into Canada if you are moving with that tortoise (slightly different rules for zoos/university affiliated research, which would not apply to you).

An import permit is required for turtles and tortoises from all countries. The animals must have been in the owner's personal possession in the country of origin and accompany the owner to Canada.

The complications further arise because the majority of tortoise species are listed under CITES, so additional paperwork is needed.
