We lost our baby western yesterday. Somehow he got out of his garden enclosure. Weve hunted in the garden but he is so tiny im worried we will never find him.

Have you dug in the soil within the enclosure? It is very common for baby tortoises to bury themselves for security and to conserve body hydration. They will usually bury themselves at the base of a plant or near a rock or in a corner.

Did you check underneath the enclosure? He might have gotten out and just went under the enclosure. It's shady

I am really sorry, try putting out his favorite food out early morning and check with neighbors. I hope you find him

So sorry to hear this, good luck in finding him, he may not have traveled far since he is so small.
