I see some people with like 8 line signatures. I tried making one that was 4 lines and it said I was over the character limit and had 1 too many lines. What's going on?

Here's what I tried to put:

:tort:Jessica:tort:
0.0.1 Eastern Hermanns (Littlefoot)
0.0.5 Eastern Box Turtles (Pippin, Luna, Sprout, Willow, and Echo) --coming soon!
1.2.0 Cats (Stormageddon, Lola, and Hippo)

I just wanna brag about my new babies coming in, lol. Can I not do this?

You should be able too. I always had trouble under the old forum format. I don't know why some can and some can't. Let's see what @Josh can tell us

No, when we switched over to the new format, new parameters were put into play. Those examples you quoted were put into effect under the old system.

I know, I know...not fair, huh? This new format won't allow me to have my cute little tortoise in my signature either, so now I have to copy/paste it into every post I type.

I suppose you could do that with your longer signature too. I have my little tortoises in a WORD document that I keep open all the time. Then when I've typed up my post I go to the WORD document and 'copy' the code for the graphic and come back here and 'paste' it.

I was wondering how your little tort changed all the time! LOL

I mostly access on my phone unless I'm at work, so that wouldn't really work for me. :(

Well, shoot. *grumblegrumblegrumble*

@Josh, can we bring back longer sigs? Or would that make the site go kablooie?

I don't understand the point. I think it's kinda ridiculous when signatures are 5x longer than peoples' posts. Hence, why I keep signatures turned off most of the time.

Wouldn't all the extraneous information be better placed on the profile page?

I don't think adding one extra line is too much more to add...I think anything longer than 5 or 6 lines is probably too much, but I like signatures over profile pages, because I rarely view profile pages. Plus sometimes it's nice to see at a glance in a thread what exactly a member has, etc. (if they do the numbers).
