It's been a long time, they are huge now compared to before... They are unlike any others, slim and active (as lizards should be) , enjoy.

This has to be the most epic tripod yet.

Littlefoot saw the bucket of food, and as soon as the door opened, he flew out of that cage like he has never been fed.

Those are adorable! Don't laugh at this stupid question, but aren't those the lizards that have like poisonous saliva? Lol

No it's not a stupid question, Their much larger "cousins" from Komodo and Rinca islands have venomous saliva.

Cera has bitten me several times, drawing blood with no ill effects.

Looking great and I love the habitat. Good to see someone has set them up right. Amber, the venomous saliva is apparently found in monitors from the Australia/ New Guinea area (my Timor has the glands). Haven't heard of it in African or Asian species.

Cute ! I didn't know you could feed them worms!

worms are actually quite good for them. High in moisture and decent calcium content too.

I have always wanted to get a monitor! Though all the savanahs and Waters I've seen always look so fat and ugly. I've always wanted one that would stay slim. These two look nice and fit! I love that your two don't look over fed and lazy. Love the set up you have for them.

In a few years I plan on getting a monitor when I have the money/time/place for one. What would you recommend me to get first off? I'd love a Black Rough Necked Monitor, but any works for me.

How do you keep your two so fit?

It's nice to see some that are not mega obese, looking good. Are yours docile? The only docile ones i've ever seen were the giant fat ones. I have had two, neither of which were calm at all.

Bout time to get some longer tongs eh XD

They're beautiful. Love how you make them work for their food. We tried making Aries our king snake work for his F/T pinkies, but his prey drive is so high he bit his tail instead! (e's fine it was the very tip and we gently held him while he worked it out) So we just let him strike to his hearts content, since he misses half the time XD

Yea mine were the same, very flighty. I'm guessing the docile ones are handled A LOT. Come to think of it, i've never really had a docile monitor, all of them turn out a little mean. I'd like to try again someday but I think i'm gonna turn my attention to tegus next.
