Yah, this weekend I’m gonna cover the grate with plexiglass, will that helpIf it were me I'd get him outta there and into a closed chamber asap. There's no way to hold heat or humidity in the tortoise tables.
Will the plexiglass work for now? You'd probably be better off getting a storage tote with a lid and modifying by cutting it holes for your light and heat source. These are very cheap and easily made into closed chambers.View attachment 288396
Honestly, I'm not sure. I don't think I've ever recalled seeing someone raise a nice smooth tortoise in one though. I'm sure it's possible but it's going to take a lot of modification. Will the plexiglass work for now?
thnx have any ideas for a new enclosure?Honestly, I'm not sure. I don't think I've ever recalled seeing someone raise a nice smooth tortoise in one though. I'm sure it's possible but it's going to take a lot of modification.
Cool. I’m getting a ho t5 tube light next week when the order comes in and I’ll have a hygrometer, so hopefully things work out.??If it were me I'd get the tote which will cost you about $10.
A Radiant heat panel $65 (got mine from @Kapidolo Farms )View attachment 288397
And a tube uvb light for about $35View attachment 288398
All you would have to do is screw the radiant heat panel and uvb into the lid and add some substrate, a hide, etc. For about a $100 you would have a suitable enclosure that holds heat and humidity and would last at least a year.
Got it.A plastic storage binView attachment 288399

How long do you think mine would last with the plexiglass, uvb, everything? If it were me I'd get the tote which will cost you about $10.

I don't keep leopards so I can't give you an accurate answer to that. How long do you think mine would last with the plexiglass, uvb, everything?

I think so... but not very safe. Plexiglass gets hot and has splinters that might get in there... also (from experience) your little one will grow big and can break the plexiglass. Will the plexiglass work for now?
