Hi,
I have a little baby russian tort. I bought a lamp fixture for him from petsmart, but unfortunately I accidently bought the wrong one. I wanted to get an actual stand, but instead I got something like this: (http://pet.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pPETS-12015195_alternate1_dt.jpg).

Thankfully, the little guy wasn't hurt when it fell off. The adhesive evidently wasn't very strong and thankfully it was also secured by a few different clamps when it fell off.

I don't think I'll be able to make it to a pet store tomorrow, so for now I'll need to use the built-in lamp clamp on the actual dome. The problem is that it's not at all adjustable. It's a few inches higher than my old set up, so as a result it's not as hot.

My digital thermometer is reading 88.5 degrees on the warm side. That's down from 93 degrees it was before. How long is 88.5 degrees acceptable? I'd like to get to the pet store as soon as possible but I'll be a bit busy this week so I'm not sure which day I'll be able to make it. I have a hatchling that's only a little over a month old which worries me.

I'm sorry for this very long post, I'm just very worried about my tort. :(

Also, I'd strongly recommend against this product. It's called the Exo Terra Light Dome Support Bracket. I think I'll try this one: (http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11147204&lmdn=Heating&f=PAD/psNotAvailInCA/No) next.
