Knowing what sex they are as hatchlings

Is there any way to be able to pick out a certain gender if you get them as hatchlings? I am most likely buying it off the Internet and I really want a boy.

No. If they were incubated for one sex over the other then there is a better chance, but still no guarantee.

Sexing them is based on size over age.

What species are you looking into?

Then we can give you an idea of how large it needs to be before gender can be determined.

I have Russians not Hermanns but I believe it's the same...4"or larger for a positive ID.

Hi Ashley:

Chances are pretty good that you will be getting a male. The males are more prevalent than the females.
