So it is Spring time here in South Africa. And we all know what that means. Blue gets very amorous with poor Whitey. So much so that he apparently harasses her the whole day according to my domestic lady. So last night I decided to put whitey inside the big aviary that I started using as my babies outside enclosure, simply because I am so scared that Blue will end up turning Whitey over and she might die from over heating etc. I will let Whitey out once I am at home and on the weekends but while I am at work I would feel much better that she is in the enclosure and can have some peace and quiet during the day. When I am at home I can at least keep an eye out for her and stop and or help if things get to much.
Once home I will take a picture of the enclosure so that you can see for yourselves that it is big enough for her at the moment. The only other thing that I worry about is that she won't like the confinement but I feel that it is the best thing for her until I can get home. Am I doing the right thing ? What are your thoughts?

I think so. She will probably appreciate the break. We are close to the weekend though so hopefully you will have a couple days to observe for yourself.. your thoughts are in the best interest for your tort so I’m sure it’s going to work out fine! Can’t wait to see pics though:)

Okay as promised. I will work on it a bit more over the weekend and need to put in some more shelter and some bark etc. Although I have built quite a few shelters in my garden for them and they don't like using them. They prefer using plants as their shelter.
I have included a pic of the babies just because I can and it is actually their thread. 20180927_183846.jpeg20180927_183929.jpeg20180927_183957.jpeg20180927_184037.jpeg20180927_184118.jpeg

The new look. And just for comparison sake a pic of a Bowsprit poop. I am sure nowhere as big as the sulcata's or Aldabra tortoises. The little ones are all hiding under the big bush.
After I put in all the bark and had a look I realised that just maybe I had made my life a little harder. As now it is going to be so much more difficult to find the little ones - their colors blend in beautifully with the bark colors. [emoji85] . Oh well fun and games for me and them. 20180929_154552.jpeg20180929_154641.jpeg20180929_154710.jpeg20180929_154842.jpeg20180929_154903.jpeg20180929_154928.jpeg20180929_155001.jpeg20180929_155725.jpeg20180929_160133.jpeg20180929_160810.jpeg

Not to worry. I re read your answer and understood. So basically Kang, Clark and Harry will all overtake Rue and she will take a long time to catch up. If only i had known about you guys from the get go. So sorry Rue. [emoji17]
However she is the only one with those pretty coastal radiations on her shell. Beauty comes in small packages some tines.
