How long should my hermann tortoise sleep for? He is just over 2 and we live in the uk also how much weight should he be putting on roughly? as we measure and weigh him once a week

Young tortoises stay hidden most of the time, but at 2 years, you should be seeing more of him. Go over your tortoise-keeping, re-checking temperatures, etc. Re-read your care sheets and tweek what needs to be tweeked.

If you add some sight barriers, plants either plastic or real, the baby might feel more comfortable coming out.

Oh its not that he's not coming out, he's an active little fella, always comes back out from his naps to bask or explore some more.
The question was aimed at what times he takes himself off to bed of an evening. He's up and about within half hour of his lights coming on, but goes off to his hide for the night a couple of hours before the lights go off.
I imagine he's still adapting to the new environment, which he seems to be doing well. Plenty of eating basking exploring and pooing
