I was just wondering what a good price would be for a redfoot. I'd love to have one at some point but not soon. I'm currently just looking into long term care and husbandry, plus if it's even a good fit for us.

Don`t look only on the price of your new shelled friend. Pet shops sell them cheap but these tortoises often have had a dry start and soon get sick even when you give them the best care you can.
Try to find a breeder who starts his baby tortoises with daily soaks in a humid, closed chamber. We have some breeders of redfoot tortoises on the forum too.

Take a look at some of the reptile classified locations on the 'net. You'll get a feel for what price the different species are going for. (kingsnake, fauna classified, etc)

Prices are all over the place.
But I agree that the CHEAPEST one would be the one in the best of health.
I once was offered a healthy 10 year old female for cheap.($150)
It ended up being at least 40 years old and near death.
Over $3,000 and many months later, including an apparent death....my veterinarian and I got her back into perfect shape and she actually won a spot on the TFO calendar that year.
Then I rehomed her for the same $150 to a great forever home.
Beware of cheap tortoises.

You should look for quality but to answer your question I'd say right around 150$ for the animal.

Thanks for all the input and advice.
When we get ready to take the redfoot plunge I want to have everything ready to go. Prices checked, outdoor and indoor areas made, hides and heat areas ready.
