That looks like spiny sowthistle, safe to feed and my russians love it. Yours looks like they're from a younger plant, when the plants get huge the leaves get very big and the plant is enormous. Here are a couple pics. You can see in the bucket I have what you have, as well as a full grown sow thistle plant in the next pic.

And regular thistle is safe too. As is milk thistle.
