I’m really worried and feeling really guilty if this is a sign of pyramiding..can you help please?
Bowser is about 10 months old..
I bought him from a reptile centre, he’s in a tortoise table with hemp bedding (all advised by the reptile centre) he has his hot side with the UV lamp which is 33 c and the cooler side is 24 c
He loves his food he normally has rocket leaves with calcium sprinkled on it with some dandelion tortoise diet capsules he is soaked once a day for about 15 mins..drinks a fair bit and eats plenty too..
Could I be feeding him too much? He has a new full dish every morning
Thanks so much. :( IMG_1519463273.936968.jpgIMG_8775.jpgIMG_8779.jpgIMG_8780.jpgIMG_8769.jpgIMG_8779.jpgIMG_1519463356.740695.jpg

Pyramiding comes from growth in conditions that are too dry, not from food. You got some of the typical bad part store advice, but the daily soaks are a good thing. Your basking temp needs to be closer to 36, but you also need a damp substrate and a humid hide so your baby's shell can grow without pyramiding. You also need to hang the lamp from over head and not at an angle like that. Also, those clamps always fail and can lead to a big disaster.

What Tom said and I was told to soak my Tortoise for 30 minutes. Instead of 15 min.
