I have this plant growing in my yard and I’m not sure what it is or if it is safe.
Can anyone identify it?

There are two or three weeds that look similar. According to the info I looked up, Creeping Charlie is toxic. A couple of the other weeds looking similar is purple dead nettle which is edible, and henbit, which causes staggers in hoof stock.

So probably just safest to avoid it?

It's Persian Speedwell. Persian speedwell can be a very bitter plant, especially the mature ones. That is why it is recommended to eat this plant for sustenance only during times of famine or necessity. With that being said, the leaves and shoots of this plant are indeed edible.May 2, 2020

I dunno. The posters flowers are somewhat more elongated than the Speedwell flowers I see online. .
