Is my leopard tortoise an omnivore?

Hello!
I just received a batch of rollie pollie bugs that I had ordered to help keep Frankie's enclosure clean and they couldn't bury themselves quick enough...he was walking thru his enclosure trying to eat them!! I've never seen anything about feeding him anything other than weeds, greens & flowers. Am I supposed to be getting him meal worms, bugs, or crickets to munch on when he so desires?

All of my torts enjoy the occasional bug or worm....

Tortoises are opportunistic they will eat lots of things that are not the best for them when given the chance. So no you do not
Need to offer bugs. A good well rounded grass based diet is best
